About Workers Power

Workers Power is an organisation of revolutionary socialist activists fighting to rebuild working class politics from below.

We are fighting for a militant, democratic working-class movement rooted in class struggle, rank-and-file power and political independence. We organise as part of the International Socialist League, linking the fight to build such a movement in Britain with the struggle for socialism internationally.

The crisis in British politics has created an opening for something new. Thousands are looking for an alternative to Labourism, austerity, racism and imperialism. The question is whether that alternative becomes just another electoral machine, or a real party of struggle. We are fighting for the latter.

That is why we are in Your Party: to help build a democratic, combative and genuinely working class organisation, shaped by its members and rooted in the workplaces and communities where our class fights every day.

What we fight for

We fight for rank-and-file democracy, class independence, and a strategy that links today’s struggles to the fight for socialism.

That means backing strikes, tenants’ organising, anti-racist and anti-fascist mobilisation, solidarity with Palestine, and every fight against exploitation and oppression. It means arguing for a party that is active between elections, not just during them; a party that helps workers organise, not just vote.

We stand for militant action, democratic accountability, internationalism, and working class self-organisation. We believe socialism will not be delivered by Parliament or by leaders acting on behalf of the class, but by workers and the oppressed organising to change society themselves.
