Gabriel Boric has defeated José Antonio Kast in the second round of Chile’s presidential election, obtaining 55.9% of the votes - the highest turnout since voting became voluntary in 2012.
Critical support for Gabriel Boric in the Chilean elections, the alternative is an electoral victory for the right-wing Pinochet admirer, Kast.
