All we seem to hear about on the TV these days is “Will and Kate”, “the Royal Wedding”, how it’s all so “British” and how “exciting” it all is.
If, like us, another mention of the Royal Wedding gets you rushing for a sickbag, then you should come to REVOLUTION TODAY, a joint event hosted by REVOLUTION and Workers Power.
We will be rallying on Saturday 30 April, not to party with the dictators of Bahrain and Saud, but to discuss the mass movements that are aiming to overthrow them – and how those revolutions can win. Marcus Halaby, expert on Arab struggles will be joined by Tahrir Square eyewitness Simon Hardy to look at how the revolutions can be completed.
We will be looking at how the revolutionary fervor of the Middle East and North Africa can be spread to Britain, where the Con-Dems are aiming to finish what Thatcher started by destroying our welfare state.
Speakers from the forefront of the workers’ struggles that look to be culminating in mass strikes will assess the next steps for the unions, while Richard Brenner (political editor Workers Power) and Owen Jones (Labour Representation National Committee, PC) will discuss their political strategies for beating the Tories in Britain today.
